Kyle Downey powered a grand slam in the fifth and
Corbin Hare connected on a three-run home run in the fourth to give the Hawks a 12-0 lead after five innings.
Hare's shot keyed a six-run fourth inning.
Brett Marr and
Seth Soto posted RBI singles prior to Hare's homer. Lake Erie walked the bases loaded to set up Downey's grand slam.
Hare and Soto each finished with two hits.
Henry Weiler allowed two runs on five hits over 4.1 innings to get his first win of the season.
In the first game, Lake Erie scored two runs in the sixth to rally for a 9-8 victory. The Hawks scored eight unanswered runs over three innings to take an 8-7 lead in the sixth.
David Stober started the Hawks' rally from a 7-0 deficit with a home run in the fourth.
Mitch Stickney hit a run-scoring triple, while
Wylson Lamb and
Joey Mancuso added RBI singles.
Brandon Mikulka tied the game at 7-7 with a two-run double in the fifth.
Rockhurst (3-1) plays a single game at Saint Louis University on Wednesday afternoon.
