Miners post two wins over Hawks

Rockhurst dropped both ends of a doubleheader Saturday at Missouri S&T. The Miners posted 13-4 and 14-6 wins while combining for 23 hits and 12 stolen bases.

Game 2: MST 13, RU 4

The Miners scored six runs in the third inning and four runs in the fifth to take a 12-3 lead.

Dakota Hanna and Luke Schultz led the Hawks with two hits apiece. Schultz had an RBI single in the fifth.

Kaden Jeffries hit a solo home run in the fourth. Colton Wemhoff singled home a run in the third.

Game 2: MST 14, RU 6

S&T (16-10, 9-2 GLVC) scored eight unearned runs in the first four innings to take an 8-4 lead and added four runs in the fifth.

Afton Koch led the Hawks (18-10, 7-8 GLVC) with two hits and two RBI. Koch hit an RBI double in the first and added a run-scoring in the fourth to tie the score at 4-4.

Avery Garmon gave the Hawks a 3-0 with an RBI single in the first. Peyton Clerk connected on an RBI triple in the sixth. Gustavo Leon added two hits.
