Del Vecchio leads RU at GLVC Championships

Jack Del Vecchio led the Hawks in 32nd place

The Rockhurst men's cross country team finished 10th at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships Saturday at the Bolivar Golf Course in Bolivar, Missouri.

The Hawks finished with 270 points. Lewis won the team title with 44 points, followed by Illinois Springfield with 55 points and Drury with 64 points.

Jack Del Vecchio led Rockhurst in 32nd place with a time of 26:34.24 over the eight-kilometer course. Collin Fay was the Hawks' No. 2 runner in 59th place with a 27:08.45 time.

Chris Obersteadt (85th, 27:48.67), Isaac Zitter (93rd, 28:03.44) and Colton Ellingsworth (96th, 28:05.03) rounded out the top five finishers for Rockhurst. Blake Borum (97th, 28:05.98) and Andrew Hartegan (100th, 28:09.47) also finished in the top 100.
