Men finish 10th at GLVC Championships

Freshman Max Hertenstein led the Hawks in 43rd place.

The Rockhurst men's cross country team finished 10th at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships Saturday at the Principia North Farm Course in Elsah, Illinois.

The Hawks finished with 274 points. Illinois Springfield won the team title with 35 points, followed by Lewis with 36 points and Missouri S&T with 76 points.

Freshman Max Hertenstein led Rockhurst in 43rd place with a time of 26:39.1 over the eight-kilometer course. Jack Del Vecchio was the Hawks' No. 2 runner in 49th place with a 26:47.8 time.

Freshmen Dylan Brush (87th, 27:59.6), Tyler Pedee (88th, 28:05.0) and Isaac Zitter (92nd, 28:15.8) rounded out the top five finishers for Rockhurst. Freshmen Chris Obersteadt (97th, 28:32.6), Nick Herrick (109th, 29:14.8) and Chris Oberkrom (116th, 29:30.4) also finished under 30 minutes.
