Hottovy leads Hawks at GLVC Championships

Peyton Hottovy led the Rockhurst men's cross country team to a 12th place at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Championships Saturday in rainy conditions at Angel Mounds in Evansville, Indiana.

Southern Indiana won the team title with 47 points, six points ahead of second-place finisher Illinois Springfield.

Hottovy finished 122nd with a time of 29:10.29 over the eight-kilometer course. Jack Hitzemann was the Hawks' No. 2 runner in 137th place with a 30:12.97 time. Riley Brookins finished third for the Hawks in 138th place in 30:15.42.

Eric Mata (144th, 30:37.62) and Joseph Moffatt (151st, 31:14.25) were the fourth and fifth runners for the Hawks. Christopher Joseph (153rd), Trent Weigel (159th) and Daniel Suarez (162nd) rounded out Rockhurst's runners.
