Box Score 2 Illinois Springfield held Rockhurst scoreless over the final three innings to edge the Hawks 5-4 Saturday in Lebanon, Illinois. The Hawks also suffered a 9-5 loss to McKendree earlier on Saturday on the McKendree campus.
The Hawks tied Springfield at 4-4 with a run in the sixth. The Prairie Stars scored the winning run with a two-out RBI single the seventh.
David Stober led the Hawks with three hits and a run-scoring single in the fifth.
Seth Soto also posted three hits to the 11-hit attack for Rockhurst.
Mitch Stickney had an RBI double in the fourth. Stober (0-2) took the loss in relief of starter
Grant Otte.
In the loss to McKendree, the Hawks jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the third inning. The Bearcats scored two runs in the seventh and came back to score two more runs in the eighth to break a 5-5 tie.
Soto led the Hawks with four hits and two RBIs. Stickney collected three hits and drove in two runs.

Nic Mertes and Stober each finished with two hits.
Alex Merithew (2-2) allowed seven runs on 10 hits over 6.2 innings.
The Hawks (8-10) play a pair of games at McKendree Sunday afternoon.
