Rockhurst falls in four to Alaska Anchorage

Morgan Rietzke led the Hawks with 14 kills and 15 digs.

Box Score Alaska Anchorage held off a Rockhurst rally to post a 3-1 victory over No. 23 Rockhurst Friday in the SpringHill Suites Invitational at the Alaska Airlines Center.

The Seawolves (2-0) won the first two sets, 25-18 and 25-22. Rockhurst won the third set, 25-16, before fallling in a 28-26 nailbiter in the fourth set. Katelynn Zanders and Juliia McKay combined for 40 kills and 26 digs for Anchorage.

The Hawks were led by Morgan Rietzke, who posted 14 kills and 15 digs. Mattie Gray added 10 kills. Alyssa Arnold made a match-high 22 digs. Anne Hellwege added 21 digs.

Rockhurst (1-1) will play next against Azusa Pacific (0-2) at 12:30 p.m. CDT Saturday.
