Box Score Rockhurst's hopes of winning its second Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament title were dashed by 23rd-ranked Lewis in the semifinals of the GLVC Tournament Saturday night in East Peoria, Ill.
The fifth-ranked Hawks fell in five sets to Lewis. The Flyers won the fifth set 15-12 after winning the second and third sets by 25-23 scores. Rockhurst won the first set, 25-21, and the fourth set, 25-23.
Alyssa Arnold led the Hawks with 15 kills, 20 digs and three blocks.
Katie Loescher posted 13 kills.
Morgan Rietzke collected her ninth double-double of the season with 12 kills and 19 digs.
Mattie Gray collected 12 kills with a .393 hitting percentage.
Kelsey Stratman added 10 kills and four blocks.
Anne Hellwege had a team-high 25 digs.
Whitney Kostal tallied 55 assists and 19 digs.
Lauren Poulicek added 16 digs.
The Hawks (31-3) will await the announcement of the NCAA Division II Championship bracket Monday night. Rockhurst was ranked second behind third-ranked Ferris State in the latest Midwest regional ranking.
