Hawks suffer first loss of the season at Findlay

The 25th-ranked Hawks suffered a 3-2 loss at Findlay on Thursday.
Box Score The 25th-ranked Rockhurst Hawks suffered their first loss of the 2013 season, falling in five sets to Findlay Thursday in the TownePlace Suites Classic Thursday in Findlay, Ohio. Findlay won the final three sets after Rockhurst jumped out to a 2-0 lead.

Rockhurst won the first set, 25-22, and second set, 25-21, and had three match points in the third set before falling by a 29-27 score. Findlay also overcame a 24-21 deficit to win the fourth set, 28-26. The Oilers won the fifth set, 15-12.

Freshman outside hitter Morgan Rietzke led the Hawks with 22 kills and 12 digs both victories. Alyssa Arnold collected 15 kills and 18 digs. Katie Loescher also finished with 15 kills. Senior libero Victoria Mahl paced the Hawks with 24 digs. Sophomore setter Whitney Kostal added 51 assists and 11 digs.

The Hawks, 4-1, face Malone and Mercyhurst on Friday in Findlay.
