Hawks down Bearcats in 'Dig for a Cure' match

Box Score Freshman Morgan Rietzke posted 16 kills to lead Rockhurst to a 3-0 victory over Northwest Missouri State Tuesday night at RU's Mason-Halpin Field House. The Hawks wore pink jerseys in their "Dig for a Cure" match for breast cancer awareness.

The Hawks won the first set, 25-13, eked out a 33-31 win in the second set and won the third set, 25-20. Alyssa Arnold collected nine kills and 11 digs. Katie Loescher added nine kills and six blocks.

Victoria Mahl had a team-high 20 digs and closed out the second set with a service ace. Whitney Kostal finished with 42 assists and five blocks. Kelsey Stratman finished with a season-high seven blocks.

The Hawks, 16-4 and 9-2 in the GLVC, travel to Chicago this weekend to play three matches in the GLVC-GLAIC Crossover. Rockhurst opens against Ferris State at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25.
