Rockhurst men's golf opened the fall season Tuesday (Sept. 8) and Wednesday (Sept. 9) at The Mule, finishing 17th in the 20-team field at Mules National Golf Club in Warrensburg, Missouri.
The Hawks battled through an up-and-down 54 holes, finishing 17th overall while competing against a field that included several GLVC and MIAA opponents. Rockhurst recorded 28 birdies and 159 pars throughout the tournament.
Kingston Solomon led the Hawks in par-5 scoring, finishing 4-under on the par-5 holes while recording nine birdies and 33 pars during the tournament.
Landon McNitt also finished with nine birdies and added 28 pars.
Ashton Vinton recorded six birdies and 11 bogeys across the three rounds, while
Adam Challoner finished with nine birdies and 33 pars.
Bryce Renz led the team with 14 birdies while adding 30 pars. Challoner posted Rockhurst's best mark on par-3 holes, finishing 1-over, while Solomon was the Hawks' top performer on par-5s at 4-under. Solomon and McNitt each finished 4-over on par-4 holes.
The Hawks will look to build on their opening tournament as the fall schedule continues next weekend at the Midwest/Central Regional Preview at the Meadows Golf Course. This will be played Monday (Sept. 14) through Tuesday (Sept. 15).
