The Rockhurst men's golf team wrapped up its fall season with another strong showing, finishing fourth at the Washburn Invitational on Tuesday (Oct. 20) at Topeka Country Club in Topeka, Kansas. The Hawks were led by Kingston Solomon and Adam Challoner, who both earned top-10 finishes in the three-round tournament.

Solomon paced Rockhurst with a tie for sixth place, finishing at even par for the tournament. Challoner followed closely behind, tying for ninth at three-over par to give the Hawks two finishers among the top 10.

Challoner opened the tournament with one of Rockhurst's strongest rounds, shooting a two-under-par 69 behind five birdies. Solomon also got off to a solid start, recording four birdies on his way to an even-par opening round. Ben Solum finished the first round at three-over par, while Ashton Vinton carded a five-over-par performance.

The Hawks continued their strong play in the second round, with Solomon, Challoner and Lander Guibert each shooting one-over par. The trio combined for 11 birdies during the round, including five from Solomon, as Rockhurst remained in contention near the top of the team standings.

Solomon saved his best round for last, firing a one-under-par final round to finish the tournament at even par. Challoner also continued his strong stretch of play, recording his second consecutive top-10 finish after tying for third at the Newman/MIAA Fall Invitational last week. Vinton rounded out Rockhurst's top three finishers, tying for 31st at nine-over par. He closed the tournament with a two-over-par final round to secure his place among the Hawks' leading scorers. Guibert followed with a tie for 48th at 12-over par, highlighted by his one-over-par second round.

Rockhurst finished the tournament with 43 total birdies, the fourth-most in the field. Solomon led the Hawks with 12 birdies across three rounds, tied for the third-most among all competitors, while Challoner and Guibert each recorded 10.

The fourth-place team finish marked Rockhurst's second consecutive fourth-place showing, following last week's performance at the Newman/MIAA Fall Invitational in Andover, Kansas. The Hawks conclude their fall schedule with back-to-back strong team finishes heading into the spring season.
