Five Hawks garner Academic All-District honors

Five Rockhurst Hawks were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Softball Team, as announced by the organization on Wednesday.

Junior second baseman Emily Berry nabbed her third career CSC Academic All-District award. Her 74 hits set the new school record for most hits in a single season. She finished the season as the team leader in home runs (14), batting average (.398), doubles (19), RBI (66) and slugging percentage (.747). Berry also collected All-GLVC First Team, GLVC All-Tournament Team, NFCA All-Midwest Region First Team honors, and D2CCA All-Midwest Region First Team honors.


Senior outfielder Eva Fulk earned her second career CSC Academic All-District award. She finished 2026 by recording a .304 batting average including 59 hits, 15 RBI and tied for the team lead with Berry in runs scored (45). Fulk was one of two Hawks to break the school record for most stolen bases in a single season with her 34 steals. Fulk also garnered GLVC All-Tournament Team honors.

Senior pitcher Avery Huffman earned her third career CSC Academic All-District award. Her 23 wins this season set the school record for most wins by a pitcher in a single season. Huffman led RU's pitching staff in ERA (2.30), complete games (27), shutouts (seven), innings pitched (225.2), strikeouts (239), and batting average against (.196). Huffman also garnered All-GLVC First Team, GLVC All-Tournament Team, NFCA All-Midwest Region Second Team honors, and D2CCA All-Midwest Region Second Team honors.

Senior designated player McKenna Lester earned her second career CSC Academic All-District Award. Lester's .356 batting average was third on the team. She tied for second on the team in hits (62) and doubles (15), was third on the team in RBI (36), and led the team in walks (23) and on-base percentage (.448). Lester also earned All-GLVC Second-Team honors and GLVC All-Tournament Team honors in 2026.


Senior shortstop Taylor Sedam nabbed her first career CSC Academic All-District award. She finished the season second on the team in batting average (.380) and RBI (43), and tied for second on the team in hits (62) and doubles (15). Sedam led the team in runs scored (47) and tied for the team lead in triples with two. Sedam collected GLVC All-Tournament Team honors.


The Hawks ended 2026 with a school-record 38 wins, their first GLVC Conference Tournament Championship in school history, and the program's first-ever appearance in the NCAA Midwest Regional.
