Junior second baseman Emily Berry and senior pitcher Avery Huffman garnered 2026 National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Midwest Region honors, as announced by the NFCA on Friday.
Berry received NFCA All-Midwest Region First Team honors. Her 70 hits on the year so far is the new record for most hits in a single season in school history. She also leads the team in home runs (11), batting average (.405), doubles (18), RBI (60) and slugging percentage (.723). Berry collected All-GLVC First Team and GLVC All-Tournament Team honors earlier this season.
Huffman nabbed NFCA All-Midwest Region Second Team honors. Her 22 wins matches the school record for the most wins in a single season. Heading into Friday's regional action, Huffman also leads RU in ERA (2.10), complete games (26), shutouts (seven), strikeouts (229) and batting average against (.195). Huffman was named to the All-GLVC First Team and GLVC All-Tournament Teams this season.
The seventh-seeded Hawks (35-20) continue play in the NCAA DII Midwest Regional against third-seeded Findlay in an elimination game on Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the McKendree University campus in Lebanon, Illinois.
