Seventh-seeded Rockhurst (35-19) faces second-seeded McKendree (43-14) on Thursday, May 14 at 1 p.m. in the first round of the NCAA Midwest Regional on the McKendree University campus in Lebanon, Illinois.

Thursday's matchup will be the sixth between the two schools this season. The Hawks won three of the previous five. The Bearcats and Hawks split their regular season series before facing each other three times in the GLVC Tournament. In the first contest during the GLVC Tournament, the Bearcats won 7-2.

GLVC TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS: Rockhurst earned its GLVC Tournament Championship and their first NCAA Tournament appearance in school history after defeating McKendree twice on Saturday, May 9. Rockhurst has won 17 of its last 20 games.

ALL-GLVC & GLVC ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAMS: Avery Huffman and Emily Berry collected All-GLVC First Team honors, McKenna Lester earned All-GLVC Second Team honors and Mya Bristow earned All-GLVC Third Team honors. Berry, Bristow, Eva Fulk, Huffman, Lester and Taylor Sedam were all named to the GLVC All-Tournament Team.

MOST TEAM WINS IN PROGRAM HISTORY: Rockhurst set a record for the most wins in a single season in program history (32) last week. The Hawks extended that mark to 35 wins after Saturday.

NEW SCHOOL RECORDS: Several school records have either been broken during the season or could be broken during the Midwest Regional:

• Huffman's 22 wins on the season is tied with Bridgette Sappington for the most in school history in a single season.
• Huffman has set the new school record for strikeouts in a single season by a pitcher (224). She is up to 542 career strikeouts, the new record for career strikeouts by a pitcher in school history.
• Berry's .412 batting average is currently the fourth-best in a single-season in school history and is the highest individual batting average by a Hawk since 2022. Berry's 11 home runs is tied for third-best in a single season in school history.
• Fulk's 33 stolen bases this season ties her for the most steals in a single season in school history. Jazmyne Moreno is just one behind Fulk with 32 stolen bases on the season.

GLVC LEADERS: Berry ranks sixth in batting average (.412), second in doubles (18), third in RBI (60), eighth in home runs (11), eighth in slugging percentage (.735) and seventh in hits (70) in the GLVC.
Huffman ranks third in ERA (2.06), first in opposing batting average (.193), first in innings pitched (203.2), second in strikeouts (224), fourth in wins (22), and first in complete games (25).
COACH DANA GOSS: Coach Goss is in her third year as the head coach and has a 70-69 career record at Rockhurst. She has led the Hawks to a .500 record or better in conference action in the last two seasons, including a 17-10 record in the GLVC this season.

ABOUT MCKENDREE: The Bearcats finished the regular season 40-12 and were ranked No. 2 in the region and No. 15 in the NFCA/Gorout DII Top 25 Coaches Poll heading into the GLVC Tournament. This week, the Bearcats moved up one spot in the Coaches Poll to No. 14.

The winner of the Rockhurst-McKendree game on Thursday will face the winner of the third-seeded Findlay vs. sixth-seeded Missouri S&T on Friday at 11 a.m.
