Hawks set to face ranked foes this weekend

Rockhurst Men's Volleyball plays two ranked foes this weekend. On Friday, the Hawks face No. 11 Lewis at 7 p.m. in Romeoville, Illinois and face No. 8 Loyola Chicago on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Chicago.

The Hawks (4-7) split their two matches at home last weekend. Rockhurst fell to Park, 3-2, on Feb. 6 and posted a 3-0 win over Ottawa on Feb. 7.

Shay Spadaro was named GLVC/Athletic Solutions Defensive Player of the Week for the second straight week. Spadaro collected nine digs (1.13/set) and nine blocks (1.13/set) in eight sets. He also tallied 27 kills (3.38/set), three assists, and two service aces.

Lewis (6-6) fell in three sets to 18th-ranked Lindenwood on Feb. 6 and lost 3-0 to Loyola Chicago on Thursday. Lewis defeated Rockhurst, 3-0, on Jan. 17, 2025, in Romeoville, Illinois.

Loyola Chicago (7-4) won in three sets over 13th-ranked McKendree on Feb. 6 before beating Lewis on Thursday. Loyola Chicago beat Rockhurst in four sets on Jan. 18, 2025.
