Hawks place four runners on Academic All-District Team

Four Rockhurst student-athletes earned a place on the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team.

JoManuel Ayala, Colby Goddard, Andrew Hartegan and Lucas Orviz received their first career CSC Academic All-District honors.

Ayala, a sophomore sprinter and hurdler from Cypress, Texas, ranked third on the team in the 400-meter hurdles (57.53) and third in the 300 indoors (36.32). He ranked 39th in the Midwest Region in the 400 hurdles.

Goddard, a sophomore distance runner from Springfield, Missouri, ranked second on the team in the 3000-meter steeplechase (10:03.10), fourth in the 800 meters (2:01.81) and fourth in the 1500 meters (4:18.56). He finished 15th in the GLVC Outdoor Championship and ranked 41st in the Midwest Region in the 3000 steeplechase.

Hartegan, a sophomore distance runner from Olathe, Kansas, led the Hawks in the 1500 meters (4:02.65) and 3000-meter steeplechase (9:28.80), and ranked second on the team in the 5000 meters (15:22.86). He finished third in the GLVC Outdoor Championship and ranked 19th in the Midwest Region in the 3000 steeplechase.

Orviz, a sophomore sprinter and hurdler from Gijon, Spain, ranked second on the team in the 400-meter hurdles (56.20) and first in the 600 meters indoors (1:16.98). He ranked 26th in the Midwest Region in the 400 hurdles.
