Coleman receives Scholar-Athlete award from GLVC

Ella Coleman led the Hawks to the NCAA Round of 16
Rockhurst's Ella Coleman has been named the 2025 Great Lakes Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year for women's tennis. The GLVC announced 16 student-athletes from seven member institutions as 2024-25 Scholar-Athletes of the Year.

Coleman, who collected her first ITA All-America honor, was named the GLVC Player of the Year and First Team All-GLVC for second straight year. She tallied a 24-5 record in singles matches and 16-8 in doubles, finishing the season ranked No. 11 in singles and No. 43 in doubles.

The sophomore from Bentonville, Arkansas helped the Hawks win first-ever GLVC Championship and first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2012, advancing to the Round of 16.

Coleman achieved a perfect 4.0 semester GPA to land on Rockhurst's Dean's List, holding a 3.83 cumulative GPA. She earned CSC Academic All-America and All-District recognition, along with ITA Scholar-Athlete, Academic All-GLVC, and GLVC Brother James Gaffney Distinguished Scholar Award.

The GLVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award is presented to one student-athlete in each conference sport, recognizing outstanding athletic achievement — both individual and team — along with academic excellence during the year in review. Nominees must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50, in line with Academic All-America standards, and must not be freshmen or first-year transfers. Voting is conducted by the Faculty Athletics Representatives (FARs) from each GLVC member institution.
