Women drop NCAA first-round match in Ohio

The Rockhurst women's tennis team fell to 41st-ranked Ferris State, 4-2, in the first round of the NCAA Midwest Regional Friday night at the Findlay YMCA East in Findlay, Ohio.

Ella Coleman won her No. 1 singles match in two sets, 7-6 (8-6) and 6-2. Coleman and Marina Magai dropped their No. 2 doubles match by a 6-2 score.

Magai and Camila Neyra lost in three sets in No. 3 and 4 singles. Neyra and Zuzanna Szmyd lost 6-0 in No. 1 doubles.

Maria Baez won her No. 6 singles match, 6-0 and 6-0. Sofia Valdespino fell in two sets in No. 2 singles.

The Hawks end the season with a 14-5 record.
