McDonald earns GLVC Coach of the Year honors

Jamie McDonald has guided the women to 59 wins over the past five seasons

Rockhurst women's tennis coach Jamie McDonald has earned GLVC Coach of the Year honors for the first time in his career.

McDonald led the Hawks to their first GLVC Tournament championship with a 4-3 victory over Indianapolis on May 4 in Springfield, Illinois. It was the first win by the Rockhurst women over UIndy since 2012.

The Hawks posted wins over Findlay and UIndy in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament in Allendale, Michigan this week to earn a spot in the Round of 16 at the NCAA Championship in Florida next week.

Rockhurst (18-5) is the No. 14 seed and will play third-seeded Midwestern State (21-3) on Wednesday, May 21 in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

McDonald has guided the Rockhurst women's program to 59 wins over the past five seasons. He has also posted 53 wins and one NCAA Tournament bid for the men's program since 2021.
