Braden, Fulk earn All-GLVC honors

Rockhurst's Riley Braden and Eva Fulk earned All-Conference honors from the Great Lakes Valley Conference, as the league office announced the Softball postseason awards on Wednesday. Both Braden and Fulk earned All-GLVC Third Team honors.

Braden, a freshman from Olathe, Kansas, leads the team in ERA (2.36), which ranks sixth in the GLVC. She also leads Rockhurst in opposing batting average (.206), ranking third in the GLVC. Braden has allowed 21 earned runs this season, which is the second lowest in the GLVC and leads the league in least hits allowed (47).

Fulk, a junior outfielder from Ankeny, Iowa, currently leads the team in batting average (.368), hits (50) and triples (four). She also leads the team in stolen bases (24), which ranks fourth in the GLVC.

The league recognized 15 GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award Individual nominees who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. Eva Fulk is Rockhurst's nominee. These individuals must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. The honorees are now eligible to become one of their school's two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced in May.
