Rockhurst Men's Volleyball will face Catawba College in the opening round of the Independent Volleyball Association (IVA) Tournament on Friday at 12:30 p.m. at Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri.

Rockhurst (18-10, 6-3 IVA) enters the IVA Tournament as the No. 5 seed, whle Catawba is the No. 4 seed. The winner of the Rockhurst-Catawba match will face the winner of top-seeded Lincoln Memorial vs. the winner of No. 8 Thomas More vs. No. 9 Roosevelt on Saturday at 10 a.m.

In the final game of the regular season, Rockhurst defeated Missouri S&T on April 8 in five sets at Mason-Halpin Field House after the Miners took a 2-0 lead. The Hawks ended the regular season on a six-match winning streak and winners of 11 out of their last 12.

Rockhurst overcame two Missouri S&T match points in the fifth set to win 18-16. Kills by Beau Cecil and Nathan Jacques ended the match.

Shay Spadaro and Lucas Tran each tallied 23 kills and two service aces. Spadaro led the Hawks with three blocks, while Tran collected a team-leading 16 digs. 

Catawba (13-11) finished its regular season by splitting its last two matches, defeating Tusculum in five sets before falling to Lincoln Memorial in three sets.
