Men's Volleyball travels northeast this weekend

The Hawks have won their last six matches

Rockhurst Men's Volleyball travels northeast for three matches this weekend. The Hawks take on Roberts Wesleyan on Friday at 5 p.m. in Rochester, New York, followed by two matches on Saturday against Daemen (11 a.m.) and D'Youville (1:30 p.m.) in Buffalo, New York.

Last week, Rockhurst (6-5) traveled to Quincy, Illinois and won all three of its matches. The Hawks carry a six-match winning streak into this weekend's action and have an over .500 record for the first time in program history.

Thirty assists from Nathan Jacques helped Rockhurst defeat Emmanuel 3-0 last Friday. Max Tkachev and Lucas Tran combined for 32 kills to secure a 3-1 victory over Quincy on Saturday, earning the program's first-ever true road win.

The Hawks won 3-0 against Roosevelt on Saturday afternoon behind Shay Spadaro's 11 kills, one service ace and one assist.

When Roberts Wesleyan (5-5) faces Rockhurst on Friday, it will be their third match in four days. The Redhawks defeated Buffalo State in four sets on Tuesday before falling to Daemen in four sets on Wednesday, which snapped a three-match winning streak.

Heading into Rockhurst's contest with Daemen (3-2), the Wildcats are riding a three-match winning streak. Daemen's run includes victories over Concordia in four sets on Jan. 11, Dominican in three sets on Jan. 24 and Roberts Wesleyan in four sets on Wednesday.

D'Youville (1-3) last played on Jan. 25, winning in three sets over Dominican to pick up its first win of the season. Before their win against Dominican, the Saints fell to then No. 10 Pepperdine on Jan. 19 in three sets.
