The Rockhurst men's volleyball team travels to Quincy, Illinois for three matches this weekend. Rockhurst faces Emmanuel Friday at 3:30 p.m. followed by two matches on Saturday against Quincy at 11 a.m. and Roosevelt at 3 p.m.
Rockhurst (3-5) won all three of its matches last weekend, including its first win in program history against Kansas Wesleyan last Friday in four sets. The Hawks will carry their first-ever three-game winning streak into this weekend's action.
Last Saturday, Rockhurst won in four sets over Graceland and three sets over Ottawa.
In the three matches in Chicago, Max Tkachev (29), Aron DeRoy (28) and Lucas Tran (22) led the Hawks in kills. Nathan Jacques had 52 assists. Tkachev and Tyler Zippay each had five service aces.
Tkachev also led Rockhurst in digs with 18, while Daniel Mekonen had six blocks.
Emmanuel (1-4) won 3-1 over Barry and fell 3-0 to Fort Valley State as part of a doubleheader last Friday.
Last Thursday, Quincy (3-2) won 3-0 against King, but fell to Lincoln Memorial last Saturday in four sets. Before facing Rockhurst, Quincy faces Missouri S&T in a rematch and Roosevelt in a Friday doubleheader.
Roosevelt (0-2) fell to then No. 12 Lewis in three sets back on Jan. 14 and to Quincy in four sets back on Jan. 16. The Lakers face Quincy in a rematch on Friday before their match against Rockhurst.
