Hawks host inaugural home matches this weekend

Rockhurst Men's Volleyball hosts their first three home matches in program history this weekend at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks take on Kansas Wesleyan in their inaugural home match on Friday at 7 p.m. Rockhurst then plays a doubleheader on Saturday, as they face Graceland at 11 a.m. and Ottawa at 4 p.m.

Rockhurst was on the road for three matches last week. The Hawks fell in three sets to then No. 12 Lewis on Friday before dropping two four-set matches on Saturday to Saint Francis and then No. 8 Loyola Chicago.

Last weekend, Shay Spadaro notched 23 kills and two service aces. Nathan Jacques recorded 87 assists and 19 digs. Aron DeRoy notched six blocks.

Friday's match will be Kansas Wesleyan's opening match of the season. In 2024, the Coyotes were 14-13, earning their first winning season in program history that started in 2022.

The Hawks' match with Graceland will be the Yellowjackets' first match of the season as well. Graceland posted a 5-20 record a season ago.

Ottawa begins its season with a doubleheader on Saturday at Mason-Halpin, playing against Graceland before facing the Hawks. Last season, Ottawa had a 5-17 record.
