Hawks earn 17th consecutive Team Academic Award

The Rockhurst volleyball team has earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award for the 17th consecutive year.

The AVCA Team Academic Award, sponsored by INTENT, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade point average.

Rockhurst is one of 147 NCAA Division II programs to receive the AVCA's annual academic award. The Hawks finished the academic year with a 3.76 cumulative grade point average and were also recognized as being among the top 20 percent of team GPAs for the fifth consecutive year.

The Hawks are one of 31 NCAA DII teams listed on the Team Academic Honor Roll for being in the top 20 percent. In addition, 13 players earned a 3.80 or higher GPA during the 2023-24 academic year.
