Berry receives All-GLVC recognition

Emily Berry batted .308 in her freshman year

Freshman Emily Berry received All-Conference softball honors from the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Berry was named the All-GLVC third team utility-non-pitcher. She ranked among the team leaders in batting average (.308), doubles (11), RBIs (13), slugging percentage (.496), on-base percentage (.336) and total bases (58) in the GLVC.

The league also recognized 14 GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award Individual nominees. Senior infielder Kerstyn Finch is Rockhurst's nominee. The student-athletes chosen are individuals who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These individuals must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. The honorees are now eligible to become one of their school's two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners.

The All-GLVC softball teams are voted on by the league's 14 head coaches.
