Reilly chosen GLVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for Volleyball

Maureen Reilly has a 4.0 GPA in Biochemistry

Rockhurst's Maureen Reilly was named the GLVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for Volleyball, announced by the conference office Friday (Feb. 2).

Reilly, who sports a cumulative GPA of 4.0 as a Biochemistry major, makes this the sixth time Rockhurst has had an honoree in volleyball. Whitney Kostal (2013, 2015) and Karli Reichert (2018, 2019) were two-time honorees. Hall of Fame setter Kecia Jennings also received the honor in 2005.

The league selects one student-athlete in each Conference sport to be designated the GLVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The award is based upon athletic accomplishments, both team and individual, and academic performance in the season upon which the award is based. Each GLVC member has the opportunity to nominate one individual from its team for the award. Nominees must have a cumulative grade point average that meets College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® standards (3.50), and freshmen and first-year transfers are not eligible for the award. The voting is completed by each member institution's Faculty Athletics Representative.

Reilly led Hawks to a 22-8 overall and 9-4 GLVC record, earning the fourth seed in the GLVC Championship Tournament and advancing to the second round of NCAA Midwest Regional.
She ranked first in NCAA for total digs (688) and second in digs per set (5.78).

A first team All-GLVC honoree for the second straight season, Reilly was named the GLVC Libero of the Year for the second time and earned GLVC Defensive Player of the Week honors three times. She was tabbed All-Region and All-American by D2CCA (Second Team) and All-American honorable mention by the AVCA.

Reilly received CSC Academic All-District® and All-America® First Team honors while being named CSC Academic Team Member of the Year.
