Tsyrenov posts 1-2 record at the ITA Cup

Rockhurst's Semyon Tsyrenov wrapped up his singles play in the ITA Cup last weekend in Rome, Georgia.

Tsyrenov played his first match on Thursday against second-seeded Alex Benichou Blanchard of Mississippi College. Tryrenov jumped out to a 5-3 lead in the first set before falling by a 7-6 (7-4) score. Benichous Blanchard then won the second set, 6-2.

On Friday, Tsyrenov won in straight sets over Elias Walter of Azusa Pacific, 6-3, 6-3.

In his final match at the ITA Cup on Saturday, Tsyrenov lost in three sets to Carel Wessel of Texas-Tyler. Tsyrenov captured the first set 7-5. Wessel rallied to win the next two sets, 6-2 and 6-4.
