Skinner receives GLVC Scholar-Athlete Award

6/26/2026 6:37:00 PM

Rockhurst's Creed Skinner has been named the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men's tennis.

The GLVC announced 19 student-athletes from eight different GLVC schools and two associate members as 2025-26 Scholar-Athletes of the Year.

Skinner was named to the All-GLVC First Team for the first time. He posted an 11-5 record at No. 4 singles and a 6-4 mark at No. 3 doubles.

The junior from Edmond, Oklahoma helped the Hawks capture 11 matches, tie for second in the GLVC West Division and finish ninth in the Midwest Region while advancing to the GLVC Championship semifinals.

Skinner has recorded a 4.00 cumulative GPA after six semesters. He also earned CSC Academic All-America and All-District recognition, along with ITA Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-GLVC honors.

The GLVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award is presented to one student-athlete in each conference sport, recognizing outstanding athletic achievement — both individual and team — along with academic excellence during the year in review. Nominees must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50, in line with Academic All-America standards, and must not be freshmen or first-year transfers. Voting is conducted by the Faculty Athletics Representatives (FARs) from each GLVC member institution.
