Softball places five on Academic All-District Team

Softball had five players earn Academic All-District honors.

The Rockhurst softball team placed a program-high five student-athletes on the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.

The five student-athletes to earn the distinction Gwen Bostick, Maya Gallagher, Jayla Pierce, Jaden Santoni and Calli Wibbenmeyer. This is the first career Academic All-District honor for the five recipients.

Bostick, a senior infielder from Centralia, Missouri, batted .302 with two home runs and 21 RBIs.

A senior shortstop from Olathe, Kansas, Gallagher led the Hawks in batting average (.314), home runs (10) and RBIs (31).

Pierce, a sophomore first baseman from Linwood, Kansas, drove in 26 runs with seven home runs and a .280 batting average.

A junior outfielder from Omaha, Nebraska, Santoni batted .280 with two home runs, 15 RBIs and six stolen bases.

Wibbenmeyer, a graduate student from Columbia, Illinois, was named to the All-GLVC first team at the designated player position. She hit .268 with eight home runs and 16 RBIs.
