Hawks post highest team GPA among D2 softball schools

Rockhurst finished with a team GPA of 3.817 for the 2021-22 academic year.
The Rockhurst University softball team posted the highest team grade point average among NCAA Division II softball programs, as the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced the Top 10 academic teams and Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes.

Rockhurst finished with a team GPA of 3.817 for the 2021-22 academic year. The Hawks ranked second in all divisions, as Division III Macalester College led the way with a 3.850 team GPA.

Sixteen members of the 2022 Rockhurst softball team earned Easton/NFCA Division III All-American Scholar-Athlete honors, which require a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for the 2021-22 academic year. They are seniors Emily Clark (Kansas City, Missouri), Josie Lindemann (Washington, Missouri), Calli Wibbenmeyer (Columbia, Illinois) and Shelby Winkelman (Schaumburg, Illinois); juniors Gwen Bostick (Centralia, Missouri), Maya Gallagher (Olathe, Kansas), Haley Gatica (Ankeny, Iowa), Jaden Santoni (Omaha, Nebraska), Allison Shakiba (St. Louis, Missouri), and Clare Reinhart (Omaha, Nebraska); sophomores Anna Newcomer (Omaha, Nebraska) and Lilly Spring (Holden, Missouri); and freshmen Jayla Pierce (Linwood, Kansas), Kennedy Rucker (Kansas City, Missouri), Anna Stephen (Colwich, Kansas), and Emma Vodnansky (Washington, Missouri).

This year 7,527 student-athletes were honored with Scholar-Athlete status across high school, NCAA, NAIA and junior college institutions.
