Women place eighth at GLVC Championships

The Rockhurst women's cross country team finished in eighth place at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships Saturday at the Principia North Farm Course in Elsah, Illinois.

The Hawks posted 241 points. Lewis won the team title with 44 points, followed by Southwest Baptist with 62 points and Indianapolis with 64 points.

Cassie Coltvet led Rockhurst in 42nd place with a time of 24:23.49 over the six-kilometer course. Lauren DeWitt was the Hawks' No. 2 runner in 47th place with a 24:36.02 time. Molly Morris placed third for the Hawks in 57th place in 25:03.73.

Cara Super (61st, 25:14.14) and Jillian Vaughn (62nd, 25:14.90) rounded out the top five finishers for Rockhurst. Marianna Donze (65th, 25:27.09), Katie Mead (70th, 25:50.59) and Katie Beyer (72nd, 25:52.95) also finished under 26 minutes.
