The Rockhurst volleyball team has collected the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2020-21 academic year. It is the 14th consecutive year the program has received the award.
The AVCA Team Academic Award, which was initiated in 1992-93, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade point average.
Rockhurst was one of 161 NCAA Division II programs to earn the AVCA's annual academic award. The Hawks finished the academic year with a 3.82 cumulative grade point average and were also recognized as being among the top 20 percent of team GPAs. The Hawks were one of 33 NCAA DII teams listed on the Team Academic Honor Roll for that distinction. In addition, 17 players notched a 3.90 or higher GPA during the 2020-21 academic year.
