Romero recognized by GLVC as Spalding Sportsmanship honoree

Senior Paula Romero has been recognized by the GLVC in the sport of women’s tennis as an honoree of the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award.
Rockhurst senior Paula Romero has been recognized by the Great Lakes Valley Conference in the sport of women's tennis as an honoree of the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award.

The representatives from 16 GLVC schools were chosen by their respective coaches to have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior this season.
 
These individuals must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.
 
Romero has played the past two seasons at Rockhurst after transferring from Gardner-Webb University. She compiled a 14-12 record in singles and 14-15 record in doubles in her career at Rockhurst.
 
Romero is now eligible to become one of RU's two overall James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced on Monday, May 18.
