Rockhurst captures “B” women’s title at GLVC Championships

Four Hawks finished in the top eight as the Hawks placed first in the GLVC "B" race.

Hannah Schaefer and Maggie Moyer led the Rockhurst women's cross country team to a first-place finish in the GLVC Championships "B" six-kilometer race Saturday at the Principia College North Farm Cross Country Course in Elsah, Illinois.

Schaefer was the Hawks' top runner for the third time this season. The senior from Overland Park, Kansas, came in second place in a time of 23:43.33. Moyer was right behind in third place in 23:50.20.

Four Hawks finished in the top eight as the Hawks collected 29 team points. Missouri S&T placed second with 52 points. Brooke Fredrickson (seventh, 25:07.70) and Ellan Harder (eighth, 25:22.48) also finished in the top eight for the Hawks.

Kathleen Gansner (13th, 26:55.73) was the Hawks' No. 5 runner. Mallory Dittemore (16th, 26:01.18) and Lauren DeWitt (19th, 26:05.16) also placed in the top 20. Madeline Meyer (21st, 26:20.96), Meg Murphy (23rd, 26:29.84), Marianna Donze (24th, 26:30.57) and Sarah Matt (29th, 27:12.74) rounded out the Hawks' runners.
