The Rockhurst softball team hits the road this weekend for a pair of doubleheaders -- Friday at Missouri-St. Louis and Saturday at Maryville (noon and 2:00 p.m. both days).
After a tough weekend at Indianapolis and Lewis, the Hawks will be hungry for wins as they look to climb back into the mix for a GLVC Tournament berth.
Rockhurst has continued to show nice balance offensively with six of its core players hitting above .300 --
Emily Truitt (.377),
Hanna Stam (.333),
Payton Staggs (.333),
Emily Clark (.311),
Calli Wibbenmeyer (.302) and
Megan Freitag (.301). Â
Wibbenmeyer, freshman first baseman, has been a great run producer for the Hawks, leading the team with 34 RBIs (fifth-best in the GLVC). Stam ranks third in the conference with 13 doubles. Truitt leads the league in triples with seven, and ranks fourth in the GLVC in total bases with 84.
Shannon Greene continues to be a workhorse in the pitcher's circle, leading the GLVC in appearances (34), innings pitched (180) and ranking fourth in wins with 16.
Coach
Bailey Wittenauer will look for these leaders to step up and get the Hawks back on track this weekend.
