The Rockhurst softball team is on the road this weekend for four key conference games -- at Indianapolis Saturday (11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. central time) and at Lewis Monday (1:00 and 3:00 p.m.).
The Hawks are jockeying for position in the GLVC, looking to remain in the top eight and stay in the hunt for a conference tournament berth. Rockhurst (20-15, 7-7 GLVC) currently stands at seventh place in the league.
After low scoring pitcher's duels last weekend, the Hawks' bats were loud on Wednesday, scoring 11 runs and homering four times in a doubleheader sweep at Newman. They will need to stay hot against UIndy, who enters Saturday ranked 16th in the country with an impressive record of 33-10 (11-4 GLVC).
Lewis enters the weekend at 12-22 (4-10 GLVC). The Flyers defeated Saginaw Valley State in their previous game and will be looking to build momentum.
