The Rockhurst softball team is home this weekend, taking the field at Loyola Park for the first time this season, hosting Drury Friday and Missouri S&T Saturday (12:00 and 2:00 p.m. both days).
The Hawks are off to a hot start this season with a record of 14-9 (3-1 GLVC). Offensively, they are hitting .333 as a team, averaging 6.7 runs per game.
Emily Truitt leads the Hawks in batting average (.436), hits (35), runs scored (23), triples (7), total bases (58), and slugging percentage (.725).
Four Hawks have 20 or more RBIs on the year:
Calli Wibbenmeyer (24), Truitt (22),
Katie Wood (21) and
Hanna Stam (20). Rockhurst has hit 14 home runs on the year, led by Wood's four and
Lauren Marks' three.
Shannon Greene has been a workhorse in the pitcher's circle, logging 103 innings thus far. Greene has won 11 games on the year, posting a 2.79 ERA with 52 strikeouts.
Paige Renner has given the Hawks 21.1 quality innings with an impressive 1.64 ERA.
Drury comes to town Friday with an 18-7 record. Missouri S&T is 6-14.
