Hawks finish fourth at GLVC Championships

The Hawks finished in fourth place at the GLVC Championships in rainy conditions in Evansville, Indiana.

The Rockhurst women's cross country team posted their highest finish in school history at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships Saturday in rainy conditions at Angel Mounds in Evansville, Indiana.

The Hawks finished in fourth place with 157 points, four points ahead of Missouri S&T. Southern Indiana won the team title with 48 points, eight points ahead of second-place finisher Southwest Baptist. Indianapolis came in third with 110 points.

Sarah Harig led Rockhurst in 20th place with a time of 23:23.20 over the six-kilometer course. Emily Dickson was the Hawks' No. 2 runner in 24th place with a 23:30.43 time. Hannah Schaefer placed third for the Hawks in 27th place in 23:36.26.

Maggie Moyer (33rd, 23:46.88) and Lauren DeWitt (61st, 24:32.23) rounded out the top five finishers for Rockhurst. Ellan Harder (63rd) and Kathleen Gansner (67th) also finished under 25 minutes.
