Rockhurst explodes for 11-1 win over Lewis

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Rockhurst hit four home runs while scoring seven runs in the fourth inning in posting an 11-1 victory over Lewis in the second game of a conference doubleheader Saturday in Romeoville, Illinois.

Hanna Stam opened the fourth with a home run to left field to give the Hawks a 5-0 lead. Emily Truitt powered a three-run home run to left center. Kelsey Tepen followed with a solo shot to center field. Megan Freitag made it three consecutive home runs with a blast to right field.

Stam led the Hawks with three hits and two RBIs. Truitt, Danielle Cross and Madison Wagner each posted two hits. Cross also drove in two runs. Shannon Greene won her 20th game of the season, allowing one unearned run on two hits over 5.0 innings.

Lewis won first game, 3-2, on an RBI double in the fifth inning while holding the Hawks to six hits.

???????Freitag hit a two-run home run to right center in the second. Stam had a team-high two hits. Greene allowed three runs on seven hits over 7.0 innings.

???????Rockhurst (20-27, 14-12 GLVC) closes out the regular season at Illinois Springfield on Sunday.
