RU's Greene blanks McKendree on three hits

Shannon Greene struck out five and walked one.

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Shannon Greene held McKendree to three hits in shutting out the Bearcats, 4-0, in the second game of a conference doubleheader Sunday in Lebanon, Illinois.

The Hawks scored two runs in the sixth on an RBI double by Emily Truitt and a run-scoring single by Kelsey Tepen. Hallie Koelliker added an RBI single in the seventh.

Taylor Rupe led the Hawks with three hits. Truitt and Tepen each collected two hits.

McKendree won the first game, 2-0, in a game that was suspended on Saturday and completed on Sunday. The Bearcats scored both of their runs in the fourth inning while holding the Hawks to two hits.

Hanna Stam and Danielle Cross collected the Hawks' hits. Paige Renner (0-7) allowed two runs on two hits over 6.0 innings.
