Greene throws pair of shutouts at William Jewell

Shannon Greene shut out Jewell twice on six hits in 12 innings.

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Shannon Greene held William Jewell scoreless on six hits to lead Rockhurst to 8-0 and 7-0 conference victories over the Cardinals Sunday in Liberty, Missouri.

The Hawks run ruled Jewell in the first game after scoring six runs in the fourth and two runs in the fifth. Halle Koelliker hit a two-run double and Danielle Cross connected on a three-run homer in the fourth.

Taylor Rupe, who led the Hawks with three hits, smashed a two-run homer in the fifth. Greene stopped Jewell on two hits over 5.0 innings.

In the second game, the Hawks took a 3-0 lead behind three RBIs by Kelsey Tepen. Rockhurst scored four runs in the seventh capped by a two-run single by Cross. Emily Truitt led the team with three hits. Shannon Greene (12-12) allowed four hits in 7.0 innings.

Rockhurst (12-17, 6-2 GLVC) plays at Missouri S&T on Friday.
