Washburn sweep Hawks in Topeka, 4-2 and 2-0

Shannon Greene took the loss in Game 1.

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Washburn held Rockhurst to six hits in sweeping the Hawks, 4-2 and 2-0, Friday in Topeka, Kansas.

The Ichabods scored two runs in the fourth inning to break a 2-2 tie in the first game. The Hawks scored twice in the top of the fourth without getting a hit while scoring on a walk and wild pitch.

Kelsey Tepen and Taylor Rupe each singled in the loss. Shannon Greene (5-3) allowed four runs on 12 hits.

In the second game, Washburn's Kelsee Henry shut out the Hawks on four hits. Emily Triuitt doubled with one out as the Hawks ended the game with the bases loaded. Paige Renner (0-3) allowed two runs on four hits.

The Hawks (5-6) will play four games at the TMZ Tournament in Joplin, Missouri this weekend.
