Stam powers Hawks to sweep over Quincy

Hanna Stam led the Hawks with five hits, two home runs and seven RBIs against Quincy.

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Hanna Stam posted five hits, two home runs and seven RBIs to lead Rockhurst to a pair of wins over Quincy on Sunday at RU's Loyola Park.

Stam went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs in the Hawks' 4-1 victory in Game 1. She singled home the tying run in the first and hit a solo home run in the fourth to give Rockhurst a 2-1 lead.

The Hawks added two runs in the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Emily Truitt and an RBI single by Megan Freitag. Shannon Greene picked up her ninth win as she allowed one run on six hits.

In the second game, Stam collected three hits and five RBIs to carry the Hawks to a 12-7 victory. She had a two-run single in the first, a two-run homer in the fourth and an RBI double in the sixth.

Halle Koelliker collected three hits and two RBIs. Taylor Rupe and Danielle Cross both tallied two hits and two RBIs. Lauren Marks added two hits. Greene went the distance to pick up her 10th win of the season.

Rockhurst (10-15, 4-2 GLVC) plays a doubleheader at Missouri Western on Wednesday.
