Walk-off double gives Hawks a 2-1 win over Truman State

Shannon Greene held Truman State to one unearned run on six hits in Game 1.

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Kelsey Tepen hit a walk-off double with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Rockhurst a 2-1 victory over Truman State in the first game of a conference doubleheader Saturday at RU's Loyola Park.

Tepen's double to left-center scored Taylor Rupe, who was hit by a pitch with two outs. Shannon Greene (8-10) picked up the win as she allowed one unearned run on six hits.

Hanna Stam hit her fourth home run of the season to lead off the bottom of the fifth to tie the game at 1-1. It was the Hawks' first hit of the game as Rockhurst finished with four hits.

Truman came back to win the second game by a 6-5 score in eight innings. The Bulldogs scored the winning run on a sacrifice fly.

The Hawks rallied to score two runs in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings. Stam doubled home a run and scored the tying run with the aid of a Truman error.

???????Stam led the Hawks with two hits, including a run-scoring double in the third. Megan Freitag hit an RBI double in the fourth. Rupe also finished with two hits. Greene took the loss out of the bullpen.

???????Rockhurst (8-15, 2-2 GLVC) hosts Quincy on Sunday.
