Rockhurst drops pair at Southwest Baptist

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Southwest Baptist scored two unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to rally for a 3-2 victory over Rockhurst in the first game of a non-conference doubleheader Tuesday in Bolivar, Missouri.

The Hawks took a 2-1 lead in the sixth on a passed ball. Taylor Rupe tied the game at 1-1 on an RBI double in the sixth. Shannon Greene (7-10) allowed three unearned runs on six hits with five strikeouts.

The Bearcats held the Hawks to two hits in winning the second game, 7-2. Southwest Baptist scored three runs in the sixth to break a 2-2 tie. The Hawks took a 2-0 lead on RBI singles by Hanna Stam and Katie Wood in the first two innings. Paige Renner (0-4) allowed four runs on five hits over 2.0 innings.

Rockhurst (7-14, 1-1 GLVC) hosts Truman State on Saturday.
