Hawks win conference opener at Parkside

Shannon Greene shut out Parkside on four hits.

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Shannon Greene pitched a four-hit shutout to carry Rockhurst to a 6-0 victory over Wisconsin-Parkside in a conference opener Saturday in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The Rangers came back to win the second game, 8-0, in six innings.

Greene won her seventh game of the season while striking out three and did not issue any walks. Hanna Stam led the Hawks with two hits and two RBIs. Halle Koelliker singled home two runs in the first. Kelsey Tepen and Katie Wood added RBI singles.

In the second game, Parkside collected 11 hits and scored four runs in the sixth to end the game early. Lauren Marks singled in the third and Koelliker added a single in the sixth. Shannon Greene (7-9) allowed four runs on eight hits over 3.1 innings.

Rockhurst (7-12, 1-1 GLVC) plays at Southwest Baptist on Wednesday.
