Eight-run fifth powers Hawks to 15-7 win over Urbana

Kelsey Tepen capped the win over Urbana with a two-run double in the fifth.

Box Score Rockhurst scored eight runs on six hits in the fifth inning in posting a 15-7 victory over Urbana on Sunday in Westfield, Indiana.

Kelsey Tepen ended the game early with a two-run double with no outs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Megan Freitag added a two-run double earlier in the inning.

Katie Wood posted four hits with two RBIs. Danielle Cross collected three hits and drove in two runs. Hanna Stam tallied a team-high three RBIs with two hits. Madison Wagner singled home two runs in the first.

Rockhurst suffered a 3-2 loss to Ohio Dominican earlier on Sunday. Freitag led the Hawks with three hits, including a run-scoring triple in the third.

The Hawks (5-4) play two games at Washburn on Friday, March 2.
