Sixth inning rally leads Hawks to sweep over Miners

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Rockhurst exploded for six runs in the sixth inning to nab a 6-1 victory over Missouri S&T and complete a doubleheader sweep over the Lady Miners Sunday at Loyola Park. The Hawks have now won eight of their last nine games.

The first-place Hawks are now 13-3 in conference games and 24-16 overall record heading into a road trip to Quincy and Truman State.
Gabbie Boerema and Hallie Koelliker each drove in two runs with pinch-hit doubles in the sixth. Lauren Marks and Lauren Cairo added RBI singles in the sixth.

Madison Wagner, Lexie Zuniga and Marks tallied two hits apiece. Bridgette Sappington (17-4) allowed one unearned run on four hits while striking out five.

The Hawks won the first game, 2-0, behind the pitching of Shannon Greene (5-10), who threw her second consecutive four-hit shutout. Lexie Zuniga drove in two runs with a single in the third.
